1. Plastic Logic Que E-Reader
This E-readers can be an alternative to large textbooks, and are small and can be easily moved around. It al has touch screen capabilities. It could be a excellent tool for all the students and teachers, if the text book companies launch buy able/free versions of their books available for download.

2. Hand held digital projector, this is also another great innovation in the field of technology for the use of education. Now with wireless internet and computers, it was about time that a successor to the bulky roof projectors. Hand held laser projectors provide computer image resizing any where any time. No matter how far the signal is, its already focused and can viewed on any flat surface. For example PE teachers can show students videos of techniques on the gym wall by using this connect to a laptop.

3. FaceVision TouchCam N1
This is a high definition webcam that works at HD quality and at very fast and smooth quality of picture. If it is supplied with a fast computer and internet it can prove to be a very useful tool in the project I will be working in class in, what I call "wireless school". It can be used in programs like skype and can be used through video conferencing for classed through the internet, where a student can sit at home, and still attend class.

4. Toyota delivery robot home helper
This robot uses advanced GPS systems to configure maps around buildings, and is used to carry items between people, and uses AI and cameras to make it's way around people and objects. It can be used in class as a way of carrying things between administration and staff, and can make this simple and time wasting proccess human less, and can make sure teachers and students, as well as other staff can stay focused on their classes and/or administrative jobs. For example the secretary can give a paper to the robot it will take it the photocopier, alert a near by person, and can get the paper photocopied, and return it the secretary or take it to another place.

PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS
THE PROBLEM
How can new technologies be implemented in our education system, and allow conservative methods of teaching still live on, and improve them by using new technology. The problem with 21st century technology is that can be misused in more ways than used properly. Many conservation educators find it hard to teach their students using the new technology, and make sure their still doing what they have been for how ever many years they have been teaching. Some technology can improve their methods and still keep with tradition.
GRID ACTIVITY PROBLEM
Many days in the year, especially in winter countries, students have to stay at home, due to weather problems in the winter months. This can take away valuable time from the students and teachers. In our school at the beginning of term one in 2009/2010 year, swine flu forced the school to cancel a whole week of school time. Our school set up a "online school" for students to use in the case of further cancellations, other school already started doing that in that government imposed week of country wide school cancellation.
THE SOLUTION
Showing Teachers and teaching them how technology can improve and enhance their methods. And offer them ways of making sure students stay on task. How can we also implement technology into our school with minimal resistance from teachers.
GRID ACTIVITY SOLUTION
Using programs like skype and webex, we can solve problems in situations stated above in the grid activity problem, and build on them and see how a school can exist without students physically going to school. If students can stay home and still interact with the class and teacher, it will be a huge cost saving move, and can make sure that the school is using the latest internet applications. In this scenario, all the school needs is a head office, where students can pickup books and other school things, as well as contacting teachers in person. The school could also rent rooms for exams when needed.

The group I will be leading and my emerging technology idea
In class on Thursday 7th of January 2010, I proposed to my IT teacher Mr.Christadoulou about the usage of websites and web 2.0 applications that allow people to connect with each other in class, sites like twitter and facebook, and applications like skype, msn, Google talk and as well as a host of others.I would like to call the idea wireless school, where a student in our school can be abroad but still attend class through video conferencing,on the internet. Another example of my idea is passing assignments to students on twitter and facebook, and handing them in through sites like turn it in. This way our school would cut a majority of its paper usage, being a positive thing on the environment and budget books. Mr.Christadoulou took off the internet applications from our job table and replaced it with my idea. I have not found out yet about the members of my group.

What area I would like to work on in the project and why
I would like to join the games group because I can be serious at work,I can control myself and am not easily distracted by the notion of skipping work for leisure. I would also love to face the challenge of offering ways of showcasing how such a noneducational area like gaming, can be used to actually help students to learn and convince the board of heads of staff to implement gaming software in with our education system.
A brilliant article showcasing how games can be used in class
Here is the link everyone, be sure to read it!

New IT year preview
Emerging Technology
Investigation Stage
This year in I.T, we will be focusing on emerging technology, i.e as in new technology that has not been either used at all, or in fields that it has not been used yet in, fields in education are still relatively undiscovered and have vast potential in changing the way we learn, effecting the world society directly . A part of these takes in the fact and traditional education focused on in conservative education systems, would normally oppose using a range of different technologies like tablet-pcs, online networking and gaming, ipods and mp3/4 players, and a whole host of different technologies. Implementing such technologies can have a vast advantages when implemented in a educational environment which can fund the implementation, and slightly more importantly, where monitoring of the usage of the technology can be held. Our goal this term is to investigate, design, plan, create, and evaluate a implementation of emerging technologies in our school that can be presented to the board of heads in our school through a mini-film, and a foolproof, student design implementation plan. Whether implementation actually take places is out the student's power. The bigger picture of this, was glanced at the beginning, and is the fact that if our school can have successful implementation of digital learning, (for example making all assignments on computer through personal tablet-pcs issued by the school to each and every student, would prevent plagiarism, save cost on a majority of the paper our school uses, and would cut down the amount of paper our school uses, thus saving trees) would not only influence school around us that our open to similar processes, but also would slow effect the region's school's and possibly the world, and could have positive effects like the one mentioned in the example above.
A emerging technology that I would like to present to the school is the usage of social networking sites like twitter and skype to make all students to contact their teachers from their homes and making interaction between students and teachers even easier.
